The Merit Aid Strategy Tool.
Find the schools where your student\'s profile creates the most leverage for merit aid. The Partner schools where the family has negotiation power, ranked by realistic award size.
Most families think "better school = better outcome." The right strategy is portfolio construction across Prestige reaches and Partner schools where merit aid creates real leverage.
A strong applicant who applies broadly to Partner schools can reduce annual cost by $20K-$60K through merit aid alone. This tool ranks the schools where your student\'s specific profile is most likely to convert into actual merit dollars.

Methodology & Caveats
Data sources: Sticker prices reflect verified 2025-26 published COA from each school\'s financial aid office for ~97 schools. Merit estimates are PCG-calibrated from CDS data for 93 priority schools, including merit strategy classification (Elite Merit Play, High Leverage, Consistent Merit, Selective Merit, Moderate Merit, Limited Merit, Binary Merit, No Merit) and negotiation potential. Real merit ranges (e.g., $20K\u2013Full Tuition) reflect the actual span of awards at each school; the ceiling typically requires winning a named scholarship through a separate competitive application.
What\'s shown: Schools where your student\'s profile would likely qualify for above-average merit consideration. Net cost includes estimated merit + Cal Grant for CA residents at CA private schools.
What\'s estimated, not guaranteed: Actual merit awards vary by application strength, demonstrated interest, and competitive class composition. Use these figures as planning targets, not commitments.
