Decision Season Services • March through May 1 • Fixed Fees

The application took four years.
The decision gets four weeks.

Between the day decisions land and the May 1 deposit deadline, families make the single largest financial choice of their child's life, usually while comparing award letters that were designed not to be comparable. The Decision Room is our fixed-fee decision-season practice: every offer decoded by true four-year cost, the winnable appeals fought properly, waitlists managed instead of wished at, and a deposit made with certainty instead of doubt.

Complimentary call • 48-hour expedited analysis available in April • We tell you which fights are winnable, including when the answer is none

Which one is your family?

Three situations walk in every March. Each needs a different playbook.

Situation 01

Multiple yeses, incomparable numbers

Four acceptances, four award letters, four different formats, and loans dressed as aid. One offer is genuinely $40,000 better over four years, and it is rarely the one with the biggest year-one number. The job: decode all of them onto one honest page.

Situation 02

The aid is short, or the answer stung

The admit came with aid that doesn't work, or the dream school said no. Some of these are winnable fights: aid appeals with changed circumstances succeed regularly; admission appeals almost never do. Knowing which is which before spending energy is the whole game.

Situation 03

Waitlisted at the top choice

A waitlist is not a soft no; it's a queue that rewards correct, prompt moves: accept the spot, file a focused letter of continued interest with new information, hold your grades, and deposit at your best yes by May 1 regardless. Managed, not wished at.

Your service: Appeal & Waitlist Strategy
Why this month punishes self-navigation: award letters are designed by enrollment-management offices whose job is yield, not clarity. Front-loaded grants that shrink after year one, loans listed as "aid," and work-study counted as money in hand are standard practice, not scandal. Comparing them takes a method. You have one month and one chance.

PCG families
Current and past client families receive priority scheduling and $100 off any decision-season service. If we guided your application season, we will not leave you alone for the decision.

These services run March 1 through May 1 each year. Capacity is limited by the calendar itself; April books first.

What we promise, and what we never will

We promise the analysis and the filing. We never promise the outcome.

  • Aid appeals: genuinely worth filing when circumstances changed or a peer school offered materially more. We build the case honestly and file it properly.
  • Admission appeals: succeed rarely, and only on significant new information. If your case doesn't have it, we tell you before you pay for the fight, not after.
  • Waitlists: managed with correct moves and a deposit at your best yes regardless. Anyone who guarantees waitlist conversion is selling weather forecasts.
  • The numbers: every figure in your comparison brief traces to your actual letters and each school's published costs, never to estimates we can't show you.
If every answer was no

There is a second route to the same degree. It's often the smarter one.

Two planned community college years lead back to the same campuses, where transfer admit rates run meaningfully higher, a guarantee program covers six UC campuses, and the pathway saves roughly $28,000 in tuition. No family that works with us ends decision season without a forward plan. Map yours in thirty seconds, free.

Questions families ask in April

Decision Season FAQ

Can you get us more financial aid after the award letter arrives?
Sometimes, and honestly. Aid appeals (professional judgment reviews) are genuinely worth filing when circumstances changed or the award missed something real: job loss, medical costs, a sibling's enrollment, or a materially better offer from a peer school. We assess whether your case is winnable first, then build the appeal that presents it properly. What we never do is promise a number, because no honest advisor can.
Do admission appeals actually work?
Rarely, and we say that plainly. Appeals succeed only on significant new information the application didn't contain, not on wanting it more. Our process starts with a winnability assessment; if the honest answer is that an appeal won't move the decision, we tell you that, credit half your fee toward the transfer route, and point the energy where it can actually work.
How should we handle a waitlist?
Actively but realistically: accept the spot immediately, file a focused letter of continued interest with genuinely new information, keep the final-semester grades strong, and deposit at your best admitted school by May 1 anyway. A waitlist gets managed alongside a real plan, never instead of one.
How fast is the award letter comparison?
Standard delivery within one week of receiving all letters. During April crunch, a 48-hour expedited turnaround is available so no family runs out of runway before May 1.
Every answer was no, or nothing affordable said yes. Now what?
The second route: two planned community college years back to the same campuses, with transfer admit rates meaningfully higher than freshman rates, a guarantee program at six UC campuses, and roughly $28,000 in tuition savings. It's a designed path, not a consolation prize, and our transfer practice exists for exactly this moment. Start with the free Route Mapper linked above.
Decisions came out weeks ago. Is it too late?
Usually not, but the clock is real: most deposits are due May 1, aid appeals need review time before then, and waitlist activity runs into summer. If you're inside the window at all, book the call today and we'll tell you within twenty minutes what's still actionable, at no charge either way.
We're not in the Conejo Valley. Can you still help?
Yes. Every decision-season service runs by video for families statewide and nationwide, with in-person sessions available at our Westlake Village office. Award letters travel by PDF just fine.
